Jemma is a dedicated pediatric occupational therapist who is passionate about creating fun, meaningful, and engaging learning experiences for children of all ages. She takes a strengths-based, neuro-affirming approach that builds confidence and supports each child in reaching their full potential.
Jemma holds a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the United States and is a registered occupational therapist in both the United States and New Zealand. With four years of clinical experience, including two years working in specialised autism clinics, she has developed a strong foundation in supporting children with diverse needs, particularly in fostering independence with daily living skills such as hygiene routines, self-feeding and mealtimes, dressing, and toileting.
Her approach is rooted in understanding body mechanics and sensory processing, and she utilises task adaptation and environmental modifications to deliver therapy that is truly individualised. Jemma is especially passionate about using play-based, child-led methods that focus on each child’s unique strengths and interests to encourage active participation and engagement.
Collaboration with families is central to Jemma’s practice. She works closely with caregivers to ensure continuity of skills at home and to build caregiver confidence, knowing that the best outcomes happen when families feel supported and empowered.
