Many children who lack confidence in their abilities are reluctant to participate in social or formal, physical games and sport. These children are often struggling with balance, ball skills, motor coordination, social skills or even attention. Many of them really do want to join in but cannot find the courage and may struggle with self esteem difficulties.

At The Kids Place, our Physiotherapists often support pre-teens who lack confidence to participate in PE and sport – especially team sport and dance.

At The Kids Place, every child’s self-esteem is important to us.  We believe that children need to accumulate a series of successful and happy experiences, to create a positive self concept, and to give them the courage to try new things. We aim to provide some of these experiences along with grading new skills to give success, in our individualised sessions.

“When you value yourself and have good self-esteem, you feel secure and worthwhile. You have generally positive relationships with others and feel confident about your abilities. You’re also open to learning and feedback, which can help you acquire and master new skills”. https://www.mayoclinic.org › self-esteem

At The Kids Place:

  • We can support parents, teachers and coaches to grade activities and skills to give the child success and best support the child to enjoy the games / sports they are interested in-helping them to reach their potential.
  • We can provide an opportunity for children to be involved in small group sessions that include physical games and skills, specifically targeted for similar aged children.
